Escapes

Motivational Series #14

*Inspired by a song I heard

Escapes

There are all kinds of escapes, to numb the pain
To hold back the tears from pouring like rain
It may be alcohol, drugs, sex or food
Anything one may find, to alter the mood
Maybe it is the phone, texting or to blog
Things that may end up keeping the mind in a fog
All of it there, handed on a silver platter
To choose from, thinking this is what will matter
As choices are made, the beauty is lost
Waiting to be seen, as deadly lines are crossed
Each day the soul is captive, unable to feel
Slowly losing touch with truth, of what is real
But inside everyone, there can be hope
To live life fully, with burdens to cope
There is no easy path, to travel alone
Blessings come with trust and faith – Let yourself be shown –
