Escape Into Fantasy: a Collaboration

A collaboration with Danny Turner ~ an escape into fantasy.  Thank you for inviting me into your underwater realm. Little did you know I'd discovered it years ago, and I'm happy to have shared this with you.

The crowd was closing in 
Water was up to my chin 
I needed to get away 
So my mind went on holiday 

There's a special place I go 
To make the world go slow 
A place where it's nice and quiet 
You see, fish don't cause riots 

Here at the bottom of the sea 
I'm resting so peacefully 
No noise, away from the panic 
Where up there is so volcanic 

I've come here many times 
To live among the mimes 
I don't invade their space 
They welcome a friendly face 

Down here there's no sunlight 
But the darkness is really bright 
The truth appears more clearly 
And I treasure it so dearly. 

I welcome you, male human
I'm sorry you've been fumin'
Rest easy with us in the sea
Where we try to live in harmony.

If it's solitude that you crave
I will show you to an empty cave
It was used many years ago
by ones like you I came to know.

There is a pocket that fills with air
so you'll never have to leave the lair.
Please stay as long as you wish.
You'll not be bothered by angry fish.

If you decide the darkness is cold
I'll line your cave with pirate's gold.
I keep it polished for times like this
when a human finds his life amiss.

I chose the sea, it's friendlier here
Unlike above, there's much to fear.
There were others before you came.
I chose to stay. Alayna is my name.
