Eruption

Dormant for a thousand years
Then one day the mountain erupts
Exploding in a thick cloud of black smoke
Burning ash and molten lava

So too
Deep in the heart of things
Festering beneath the surface
Years of bitter resentment
Anger and hatred
Explode in a moment of violent fury

Like the mountain
Dormant for a thousand years
Before the volcanic eruption.

Bitterness is no good! Forgiveness helps the one who forgives and often blesses.

A very apt comparison between the wrath of nature and the fury of human beings, W.A. Most expressive. ~ Regards // paul

You nailed it, my friend. So true. Precise analogy. Best wishes, Gershon
