Erasing Memories
Of its own volition
the brain erases time,
to rearrange events,
or change truth;
an embarrassing moment,
a misspoken word,
cowardly act,
wrong decision,
missed opportunity,
or lost love.
If you could call back time,
you'd become a sieve,
and filter out
all the pain.
