Equinox
Equinox.
All things being equal, you would think
that there must be a way,
To keep the scales in balance between the night and day,
Action and inaction are two halves of something whole,
As one leads the other follows,
The body maintains, and is fed by, the soul.
When equilibrium is broken,
pain, sorrow and regret hold the upper hand,
Adrift on a sea of lost horizon,
With no clear way back to land.
At the nadir of our darkness
There is still a scintilla of a gleam,
the outer edge of brightness must return;
while life endures there will be room to dream.
