Equanimity

"Teach us to care and not to care; teach us to sit still." -T.S. Eliot Too much of everything, no equanimity, ipods and emails engulfing your brain; snafus and bottlenecks, traffic and tie-ups, endless confusion will drive you insane. Perhaps it would be best to pause for a moment and give up your place to the lean and the mean, to covet silence and calm and simplicity, shun chaos and pressure, they know where you've been! Take refuge in reading, or simply go shopping, have fun with your children and make lots of noise! play ball with your neighbour, take walks in the country and nurture your inner child, play with your toys!

I used to hear that after things go so far one way they switch back for awhile. I hope its true. This is something that really concerns me. Everything is so noisy. My kid can't do anything unless something is in his ear. In my office I have a plack that says Be Still For The World Is Very Loud And God Speaks In Whispers~
