Yes, our country's innocence was killed that day, the blood of it still oozing. I remember that day quite well...was in the 6th grade in a school in a suburb of Dallas. We were listening to the radio cast of the parade when 'bang'--I remember our shrieks and the look on our teacher's face. She rushed over, turned off the radio and went in the hallway and cried along with the other teachers, one of whom was shrieking hysterically. Thanks for your words, Gershon.

JFK was one of the most popular Presidents of America. When he was assassinated, the idyllic glory of America was lost. None of his successors could lift the country to that level. Great Thoughts!

A lot of Americans were banking on the idea of a Camelot back then. I for one thought a Kennedy dynasty in the White House was more than a possibility. Great poem, makes me wonder what might have been. John
