Epitaph for a Country

     JFK, he was shot dead
     sixty years ago today

        Camelot, it fell apart
        America lost her way

JFK was one of the most popular Presidents of America. When he was assassinated, the idyllic glory of America was lost. None of his successors could lift the country to that level. Great Thoughts!

A lot of Americans were banking on the idea of a Camelot back then. I for one thought a Kennedy dynasty in the White House was more than a possibility. Great poem, makes me wonder what might have been. John
