Epitaph
When I am dead and gone,
You’ll find among my belongings:
An incomplete poem,
An open book and
Remnants of a broken dream!
I lived my life complete
And what did I earn?
A flower-laden casket,
A tombstone and
A few sighs of relief!
My loved ones did
what best they could—
Wished me eternal peace
Shed few regretful tears
Then turned and walked away!
That’s my legacy--
A few fond memories
A few heartbreaks
Some random good deeds
And the solemn sunset;
From the dust I rose
Into the dust I return,
Like a wind I came
Like a whisper I go!
