Epilogue

I hope fate allows us to meet again. I hope I'm a woman at her best then unlike the foolish teenager who didn't believe in miracles. I hope we'd stumble upon each other like old friends and I hope you would remember my face. I hope we would laugh upon our younger selves and those awkward conversations. I hope you'd say what you never did. And I'll say I knew it back then. I hope you'd understand me then like you do now. And I hope we won't have to talk just to prevent the ominous silence. I'll say I missed you and whatever that we had. I'll say how angry I was when you never reached out. I'll say it was my fault. I'll say I felt the same as you, but time wasn't with me. I'll say I knew I needed you when I shouldn't have. I'll say my silence wasn't the absence of the feeling we had yet never got to share. I'll say I pictured meeting you like this. I hope you'd smile. Simply. I hope we'd talk for hours. I hope we'd talk about us. I hope we'd be content with ourselves then. I hope we'd never forget whoever we may have been to each other. And at last, I hope we'd be able to walk away with a smile on our faces looking like fools. I hope we'd wish to meet again. And when we do I hope we won't need a word to describe us. I'll say to the world, "I knew an angel who fixed me." I hope we'd be each other's unsung poems. I hope our love would burn out unrequited. I hope I'd live in the pages of your story like a dead flower given by a lover. Until then.
