Ephemeral Guest

In an old abandoned house
On a sunny day
A colorful butterfly strayed.

With wings of rainbow
It fluttered through shadows,
Danced in the dim, misty air,
For a short time,
Twirling and swirling.

Past creaking floors
And cobweb veils so fine,
It explored the silence,
A gleam so fine.

But soon as the wild winds
Called it back outside
Through the cracked window.
It flew away
leaving the old house.

I loved being in flight with the butterfly, seeing and being alive with no past or future on his mind. Really enjoyed the feel and imagery.
