Listen to poem:

Envy

You are young and poor.
You are vigorous and beautiful.
You see a rich man passing,
Comfortable in his luxury sedan,
Diamonds flashing on his fingers.
You smile and wave, genuinely happy
For his conspicuous good fortune.

Your bare hands are brown and strong.
The streets are hot and dusty,
Your only clothes are cheap and dirty,
And you have no fixed address.
But you are young and bold
And your dreams sustain you.

Hope lights up your face
Because the rich man
Is all the proof you need.
And he waves to you,
His soul full of envy.

I remember reading this poem before and it is every bit as good as the first time I read it. Excellent write.
