Envy.

I envy that complexion,
that scent,
of a loved girl,
of an adored
and quite beautiful
daughter,
or lover,
or stranger.
Instead
I am damaged
and homely,
hiding in the smoke,
longing
and distracted.

I can relate, I have always felt like I am living in other people's shadows, its hard. I think this is a powerful write, you should read the one I wrote called "confidence" it might be a good one, I thought it was corny, but some say its god. Your words are very cohesive and I admire that.....Aleera
