Entrancing Dancing
ENTRANCING DANCING
I find myself here in a different world
Unfurled notes stroke like silky fingers
Melody lingers in this different time
Tunes climb, then again descending
No ending, as if old but still unborn
Corn waving to a gentle triple rhythm
A prism separates emotional shades
No maids, just naked dancing men
And when the music stops so will I
But my mind is now linked to theirs
And shares in relaxation without care
I dare to dream that this may be real
Also to feel deserving of any prize
Yet recognise this is ancient Greece
So please don’t regard this as folly
It is melancholy, yet uplifting too
But you may know Gymnopedie 1
