Entire Day Rescued
I was having a mediocre day.
Nothing exciting or unusual
Until I passed a meadow
Lovely she was but lovelier
was the laughter of a little girl
She appeared to be about three
She was holding flowers and laughing
Her laugh and smile were both contagious.
I felt myself smiling.
Began to whistle spontaneously.
The entire day rescued and enthused
by the optimistic laughter of a pretty waif
Whose name I do not know
However, her laugh will forever be remembered
as it revived my soul, helping me to recall that
there is always goodness in the world somewhere.
