Enough

When you make me cry
does it make you feel good?
Do you live for my tears
my pain and my terror?
Why does my misery give you pleasure?
Who sits there laughing at their daughter's agony?
Every time I think you're at your worst
you find a way to hurt me more.
So I try and I try to be better.
I must have done something wrong.
I finally woke up and saw the truth.
I'll never be good enough
never try hard enough
to make you proud enough.
