Enigma

I'm a conundrum. Or an enigma. I forget which. ~James A. Owens
Am I a conundrum or am I an enigma? You told me once long ago, but now I forget which, and why should I let your fatuous words define me? Conundrum and enigma are synonymous, or so Thesaurus tells me, and what does that really make me; a tricky incongruity or a vexing oddity? I think I shall define myself without your metaphoric mediocrity and just declare myself a mystifying ambiguity and your tempestuous kerfuffle!

I like it. I like that last line. I agree we each should be our own person. Thanks for this verse. Good luck with the contest.
