England Never Needs An Official Anthem

From a moon sized empire to an island
mentality never fear or frightened
punch above our weight not silenced
England will have always survived

The Empire was dominant
stretching every continent
gone now but for one constant
the British always confident

England doesn't need an official anthem in my eyes
other countries do for identity and pride
an anthem and flag used to unify
their story sung as their flag fly high

boasting their national tale in song
boring all for four minutes long
in a language no one outside their country understands
a false sense of belonging and being with their land

without no one would know who they are
even they would feel as though apart
not all countries have been blessed as far
as our island always taking part

WE ARE ENGLAND
EVERYONE KNOWS WHO WE ARE
WE DON'T NEED THIS STAND
OUR BEING IS NOT STARVED

So embrace this as no other alike
no country can stand and not speak pride
and have all no what they are like
so let the unofficial songs be our right

a song about a Queen with no power
and a God none of us believe in
patriotic songs don't create finest hours
we are so proud it's not our needing

we should never adopt patriotic lyrics
other countries caught up in these gimmicks
we've 7 anthems while one is their limit
WE ENGLAND DON'T NEED TO MIMMICK
