Enemies

she filled a cup
with ambrosia
and handed it to her enemies
so they'd live forever.
she died the next day
with a smile on her face
watching their laughter die away
and their smiles slowly decay
as their guilt grows in a bouquet
of wilted roses
their sanity decomposes
