Multiple sources combine forces to create a mighty current. Quiet babbling brooks become a cacophonic thunder. Arcing in sunlight, a stone lands with a kerplunk, sends water skyward. Swept downstream, it vanishes, no evidence of impact. Countless words flood forth: mirth, anguish, anger, joy, awe. Cast into the soup, briefly visible to all, swept downstream into the void.

I especially like how you've contrasted the 'vanishing stone' of the second tank with the swelling current of the first stanza. Perspicacious penning, Jeff! :) gw

Superb writing, Jeff. I was enthralled by the images and "swept downstream" with the theme so well-presented.

Thanks, Milt. I was hopeful a multi-stanza tanka could be used if some separate ideas were presented and then combined, but I never know... :-) Enjoyed the exercise though!
