End of the Year Thoughts

A LIST OF END OF THE YEAR THOUGHTS (MY ATTEMPT AT A RHYME)
At the end of the year
I will take time to think
Without any fear
I will write down in ink.

One of the things that I know is true
Poetry has become a great love
When feelings have turned blue.
Within all the push and all of the shove

To take the time and gather your thoughts
To climb into your head
And pull out the rot
To create a work of art and then go to bed.

I love to enjoy the beauty of souls
The ones that are different and not too grand
The ones that are very content in their roles
They are happy to lend you a hand.

I enjoy the laughter of a child
When everything piles up against you
Making obstacles seem so mild
It gives a complete and different view.

When forming a list of things that I like
It would be so remiss
Not to mention my bike.
To ride on a trail is certainly a bliss

Enjoying such nature as flowers and turtles
slows you down in a good way
To overcome hurdles
It gives you some time to stop and pray

Which brings me now to my list’s very best...
To spend time with God
And take much needed rest!
I hope you do not find that this list is too odd

For this is the secret to enjoying this place
We’ve been put here to love,
To seek out God’s face
And rise above all the push and shove.

To love our fellow men and (women)
To be a friend and shed some light
To encourage another and in addition
Help someone win their fight.

Really well said. Beautiful in fact. "When you are worried, and cannot sleep...." There is so much to be grateful for -- If nothing else, then just for rising in the morning, with another chance to make a better go of it. Life is precious...and God loving and generous with His Children. The least I can do is show my gratitude by trying my best. Thank you for this wonderful reminder. Blessings!

I appreciate you taking the time to read my poem. Life is very precious indeed! I really have not done many rhyme poems and it adds extra challenge. I will hone this style over time. Thanks for your kind words.
