End of the line

Smiles can be turned upside down Broken hearts often bleed While jokers steal everything That can fulfill their greed As the music is turned off The singer loses voice Silence then becomes the norm And the mimes at last rejoice Waters flow through memories For river beds are dry Wildlife has long moved on And farmland's death is nigh Distant mountains turn to brown Before the sun sets low We pilgrims camp at the base For there's nowhere left to go
