End of Summer
The warm Summer evenings, filled with bugs galore
Keeps my apathy towards these days, to never implore
Though you can sit without a coat on, sit with warmth
I dislike the heat of the day, I miss the cool to come forth
I want October to be a year-round treat, something to enjoy
But it doesn’t seem to be that way, Summer brings its ploy
To hurt my skin with sweat, a never-ending heartache
I hate the evening’s heat, which brings me a headache
I look forward to the Fall, when no more heat beams down
I just know it will soon be coming, it is well known
That Summer only can last so long, the baking will subside
Then I will see pleasant days, and I’ll go along for the ride
Simply stating it easily, I will not be coerced into Summer’s folly
Of dominating green and color, where many are quite jolly
I will always be a fan, of the Autumn cool and soft breezes
Where you want to elicit a jacket, or come across some sneezes
Many don’t like the Fall as it brings Winter along too
But it’s better than the heat of the Summer, all air hurting you
Now I know the hotness of the Summer is nearing the end
And Autumn is coming, quickly, right around the bend
So, bring me a smile, all about the length of a strong mile
And I will bring to you the best time of the year worth while
The crisp air of the mornings, the months of the Fall
Great weather all around, perfect days for just about all
I sing a song along with joy, that Autumn is nearing to be
A place to call home for love, a place living in real beauty
