Encumbrance of a Burden

How much does your burden weigh?
Simmering anger
bottled up, an acid
that corrodes the soul.
Release it,
not on someone, of course.
If it's rage, shout it into the void!
Unexpressed hurt?
Give a voice to it, at last!
Consider the source;
turn to a caring friend
who'll apply a healing balm
to your emotional wounds
If you want to cry,
don't hold it in,
permit the emotion.
Wail out a good cry!
You'd be surprised
how you feel afterwards.
Those bothersome thoughts
occupying your mind
like fetid waste; a threat
to your peace of mind
Release them like I do,
through meditation;
lighten the weight
of the burdens you carry
so you can finally
breathe and be...
free.
Woozah!...
