Encouragement
Encouragement
“A war is fought between our
Inner and outer selves everyday
Yet at the end of the day the winner
Is the truthfulness of our hearts”
A quote that I had lived by for quite some time
Starting at age 14 years of age.
From staff members from treatment facilities,
To students at public schools,
I was put into situations where its not beneficial to me
But to those who doubted me throughout the years.
Case workers lost faith in me
And family members who had forgotten me
Became my mentality to keep everyone away
Like living on an island 1000 miles away from the mainland
But the weirdest, yet something that was that reach from the mainland
Peers whom were my age or a year younger
Came to me with help in need, asking for advice and encouragement
Some asked for relationship advice on how to keep a significant other,
To asking advice on keeping in touch within themselves
I couldn’t figure out what to say at first,
Like I’d never got asked for advice when here I am
1000 miles away from the mainland
Yet here I am getting asked for advice
I came with some possible advice to those individuals and in
My later years more teens and even adults asked me
To give them advice on certain issues
And some came to me as their last resort before they commit
Suicide
To this day, I had helped over 200 individuals with relations and everyday issues
And I had saved close to 20 individuals who were going to commit suicide
I am proud that I came into their lives and yes I do get emotional sometimes caused by the overwhelmingly advice I give,
But I will not stop helping and that’s my commitment
