Encounter Part I

Night time again after a twelve-hour shift
Making my way down the road riding fast
I’m homeward bound
Suddenly I brake to stop
At the sight of a bearded man with a fez
He was smilingly offering to push me wherever it is that I was going
He introduced himself as Adam
The man who sleeps in a pipe on Loerie Road
He was rather very angry telling about the city council, who wants to remove him and his home from the Nantes Park
The City Council wants to renovate
Ah! I thought of the developmental scenario
You get evicted from your home
There is a new town development to be build
Adam seemed enraged at this stage talking about him and his home removal
It was not his anger that frightened me
It was the fact that he slept outside so long
That he adapted animal instincts for survival
To protect him and his home to whatever may come alive
That he might forget he was helping a wheelchair man
