Other than doing occasional open-mic nights, talent shows, or karaoke, I'm not really focused on getting on stage at my age (53).  I would love to hear some of my original songs played on the radio however.
The crowd cheers for another song, But the singer was too tired. The ushers said to move along Just as the band all retired. I fantasized I was on stage. The crowd cheers for another song. I sang of love, revenge, and rage And overwhelmed the cheering throng. I dreamed to write and play each song; Infusing each one with passion. The crowd cheers for another song From the headlining attraction. Someday my crowds will call for more. I’ll keep writing song after song, So following each encore, The crowd cheers for another song. Thanks for commenting. Haven't been in front of thousands, but have been playing my job's Christmas party in front of a hundred for a few years. My song Something You Left Behind was well received last Christmas (it's on my page).

I enjoyed reading your poem and perhaps your dream will come true. Without dreams and hopes life is rather flat. Best wishes Linda

Thank you for commenting. I'm probably too late in life to get into anything bigger than an open-mic night, but it was fun to write about. I am in the middle of recording a few songs that are on this site. You might like them: Tropical Getaway, Something You Left Behind (which is currently featured), Lady Luck Stomped Out, Egyptian Dancer, Blow More Bubbles, and Sitting On A Cloud.
