Enclosed in a Mist

Enclosed in a mist
      no vision
      I cannot see
beyond the limits of my cares
      beyond are trees and grass
      and sunshine
      life
      but I can’t see
the gloom has closed me in.

   My tiny world
      a prison
      walled
      a room without a view
      I walk short paces
      round and round
      without escape
   from worry’s cold pursuit.

   Imagination
      feeds my fears
      the future
      meaningless
      and dark
      anxieties
      burn love
   and friendship from my soul.

   Then Jesus comes
      with light and warmth
      that lift the mist
      and distance comes
      and life
      bursts out in morning splendour
      and vision comes
      renewed
      and hope revives
      in beauty once again
      a new perspective –
   the Glory of my King!

Dear John, your poem is compelling in the duality of emotions; anxiety to bliss. From being enclosed in a mist, a tiny prison of anxious imagination to the light and warmth of a new day born of a "new perspective" in faith and joy reveling in "the Glory of my King!" A very expressive and inspiring piece. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
