Empty Twenty

i'm still sitting in swimming pools,
they're empty now.
am i an adult now?
barely even twenty,
now i'm confused somehow.
got my life in front of me
but am i willing to do so?
will i reach the high
when i come from down below?
they're watching us,
like we're some kind of
experiment.
scolding us out by any mistakes,
and they wonder why we don't scream
by excitement.
the youth is drowning
and the elders are describing the water.
