Empty Passion

Guess I owe you an explanation 
Bout why I’ve gone and pushed you away
It’s not for the lack of me longing
That’s the reason why I can’t stay

One day away
Is like a lifetime apart
Our souls speak without touching
But here’s the worst part

Within me’s a struggle
You can’t comprehend 
My feelings the curse
This want has me damned

This empty passion
I’ve longed to fulfill 
It’s much stronger than I am
It’s broken my will

Lust turns to liquor
That crosses my lips
The pain of what I’ve lost
Must be destiny’s wish

Agony knows me
It lives in the lust
I’ve loved you since day one
It’s just time I give up

No words can describe us
Please go on your way
I’ve let an Angel turn to demons
At least you can be saved

This empty passion
I’ll never fulfill
It’s much stronger than I am
It’s broken my will

I’ve dreamt of what could be
And I’m dreaming still
Guess I’ll dream on eternal
For the dream not fulfilled 

Guess I owe you an explanation 
Bout why I’ve gone and pushed you away
It’s not for the lack of me longing
It’s for that as to why I can’t stay

I’ll want you until my dying day
