Empty Nest

The children have grown and flown, our nest is empty The family sits together no longer on the dining table Walls resound no longer with their chirpy chitter chatter Yet a strange emptiness radiating peace fills our heart Accepting with gratitude the natural transition of life Recognising we would never choose to have it otherwise Living in the moment, in a mode of embrace and release We have been blessed with the wisdom of the ancients That the children born to us are on their own soul journey Momentarily entwined with us in linear time upon earth Just as we were too with our parents who are no more With all that we can hold on to being memory we retain Thus not with regret but in a mood celebratory, we applaud Our children’s growth as they embark upon their life quest For we all are in truth the children of God who so nurtures Guiding us gently and enabling us as of prior soul agreement That plays out as destiny while we slowly refine our responses Thus we rest now in peaceful contentment in our empty nest As our children’s priorities shift we hear not from them often Yet vibrationally we always remain ever connected with them The elixir of love transcends limitations of space and time A love that is unclinging, giving, unconditional and acceptant Our lives too go on as ordained in our vibrant sunset years So beauteous is the magic of life playing out like a lucid dream We are truly blessed! 08-May-2023
