Empty Hope

I awoke to an empty bed
And my heart just ached
No, you were not dead
It was then I realized, I was raped.

I was without your smile
I was without your eyes
I felt alone walking that mile
Down those lonely, desolate aisles

You will always be with me
Even though I’m not what you want
I will always wait on bended knee
For that glorious day I hear you chant

I love you…..
