Empty Eerie Bedroom

Empty … eerie … bedroom
Wallpaper torn off … splotches revealed
Carpeting gone … floorboards rickety
   Furniture removed ... yawning gaps

Empty ... eerie ... bedroom
Cold, austere ... no furniture
No blinds ... no curtains ... no drapes
Closets flung open ... no clothes ... no shoes

Empty ... eerie ... bedroom
No beds ... no bedding ... no pillows
No throw-rugs ... no desk or desk lamp
   Bare... naked … uninviting

Empty... eerie ... bedroom
Smelling faintly of fumes
Paint fumes ... hardwood stain fumes
   The room's occupants

Empty ... eerie ... bedroom
Too still ... too silent ... nothing stirs
An apartment-for-rent feel to it
   Empty ... eerie ... bedroom ...

    Crying for a human touch

Such emptiness, devoid of heart, soul texture, emotion, physical elements, crying out for someone to fill its space with intimacy, warmth, life and love is compelling poetry, Gershon. Intriguing and symbolic on many levels - Awesome and thought provoking! Warmest wishes always my wonderful friend.. ~Susan

So?! You think me not mad?! Not on the edge of suicidal despair?! Not driven to desperation?! Neither Poe-like nor Plath-like?! ~ Well, I guess I just can't fool you: I'm still just boring old Gershon Wolf---who REALLY appreciates your encouraging words. God bless you, Susan Ashley. Season's Best, gw

Thanks... We're on a similar wavelength … Not many are … whatever that means/implies. Laugh ( madly ) out loud. Bwa-ha-ha-ha! … Season's best, Gershon
