Empty Bottles
Given empty bottles,
With deceiving messages in and out
That their lives will be changed, thus
Planting false hopes everywhere
Sadly, even young ones,
Believed they will get out of the ghetto
Delight in their renewed hope-
Lives changing- beyond dreams of their forefathers;
Day by day, began counting,
Waiting, waiting
Looking when the sun goes- watching when it comes back
Hoping tomorrow will be the day,
When change finally find a place in their hearts
To restore dignity in their lives
Like it was, million years ago,
When love was the only leader around
Ruling peacefully and honestly;
Sadly, turned to be a false dawn
Raised by greed and counterpart
Leaving lives shattered,
Drenched in tears of sadness,
With the pain too destructive to reverse;
For, they were given empty bottles
Made to believe
Lives will be revamped like never before;
Tell me the truth,
Who is to blame?
