Notes About The Poem

Empty As the Hourglass Shatters

Empty As the Hourglass Shatters

The sand is slowly passing through...

the seconds, minutes, hours of time.

Now precious grains show less to view,

for time is scarce and slowing down

to sandy streams that flow sometime...

begin, then stop, resume, shutdown.

No chance to flip for a new start,

for the last grain will sound the chime

			as shattered hourglass falls apart...

				along with hearts...at death's 'showtime'.
