Empty

Oh My God!
How much more can I take?
The betrayal, the lies,
sanity's at stake.
we strive to compromise,
try to comply
It's a lost cause,
our ocean's ran dry.
Enthralling at first,
true love, so rare.
A wicked trick,
a trap to ensnare.
You took advantage,
you took and took,
you'll see my cupboards are empty,
if you cared to look.
Love so blind,
I gave and gave,
never seeing
you only sought to enslave.
Like baron land
so harshly weathered,
I'm repelling love,
my heart now tethered.

I understand these lines all too well. Our heart's glass should always be full/half-full, no matter who tries to sip from it. Excellent!
