Empty

It felt empty… this night
I felt empty perhaps without a thought
From the world I found a place to hide
Yet from my mind, to hide I cannot

Running from place to place
With a one me unable to run away from
Reality to see face to face
Yet of unknown mystery I’m always to belong

I cannot see answers… I cannot find
Yet… am to realize I haven’t even the question
And of silence I listen… to intertwine
Simply… how life isn’t for anyone to have lessons

And I hear my broken thoughts for a while
I hear moments to only come with age to receive
Confusion is all there is encompassing down
Or perhaps… that’s what reality will have me believe

Not as empty as I dare hope to be
Simply a time, this moment without a thought
Hidden from the world, is my world I see
For what is to be… perhaps what is not
