Emptiness

The sun did not rise With me this morning. The cold, grey mist Was there . . . Chilling all the places We had been The night before. I could not see The paths we’d walked Or places where We’d stopped. I only felt The cold mist’s arms About my soul . . . And . . . Emptiness
