Emptiness

alone on this desolate beach
this sandcastle sits
empty, like me

a thunderous roar
of emotions
crashing down
threatening existence
its salty spray
taunting my lips
where kisses once lingered

darkened thoughts
weaving in and out
of a clouded mind
a soul lost
somewhere within

heartbeat quickens
like the ocean’s force
within this storm’s rage
Its fury inching
closer and closer

short winded breaths
succumbing
beneath its crash

The Sandra force is still on course, and I thrilled reading it BUT no clue as to your wellbeing. I have one (or two) more writes of yours to Nancy Drew.

Bravo Sandy -- you've always been able to bleed with your pen...your gift! Your last write was also for my contest in January---thank you, for finding inspiration---I've another to tempt you, and then perhaps peace and love? Hugs dear Sandy...

Congrats on your win with this very emotional piece, I really like how you captured and depicted emptiness so eloquently and vividly.
