Empowered

The day I stopped running
    that was power

The day I stood up to him
    that was power

The day I stopped crying
    that was power

The day I got angry
    that was power

The day I said NO!
    that was power

The day I refused to be hurt
    that was power

The day I fought back
    that was power

The day I took control
    that was power

The day I broke the silence
     that was power

The day I spoke out
    I was empowered.
