Empirical Eyes

(6) With empirical eyes I spied my demise All bludgeoned and bloody was I As if from a dream Demons in eye Came to claim my remains My soul came willing My soul came quick Imprisoned by chains My body was sick From years of good living I puked like a brick They dragged me along And tortured me for days on end The pain insurmountable I wished it to end My soul lived on My soul eternal They cut my skin With scalpel like knives Broke my legs But I had no bones They plucked out my eyes But I had none Then I saw the face That took me captive With what looked like my family My love I had wings again I could fly and I went From that place up into the sky An then did I realize That pain was the torture Of brining me to freedom
