Emotional Skies
When I think of May showers
I envision mixed emotional skies
A jubilant sun smiling brightly with power
As clouds cry tears of rain on fireflies
Like a budding teenager coming of age
May showers can bring turbulent times
Fields of flowers bloom under skies of rage
As the rain taps my window with the sound of nature's chimes
The low thunderous rumbling of the sky’s belly
Lit with lighting as fast as blinking eyes,
The cleansing scent of rain is never smelly
Soothing me softly to sleep til the next gleeful sunrise
Showers of transitioning to long summer days and nights
Sing an orotund chorus of spring’s last rites
