Emotion Without a Sound
Emotion is where a poem is born
It hides in its secret place
Anger, pain or embarrassment
Can make it show its face
It sometimes comes in a simple tear
Or a SHOUT to make sure you're heard
But it sometimes builds up inside of us
When it comes to life through word
The words won't come out fast enough
Our minds betray our hands
Though we write as fast as we can
To follow our mind's commands
A poem is a pure emotion
It's a scream that makes us feel better
Or a silent tear that can't be heard
A tear that starts with a letter
Emotion is where a poem is born
An emotion without a sound
Written relief to calm our grief
That's when a poem is found
