Emergence

MIDWINTER
Slushy, Sloshed,
Shivering, Sheltering, Slumbering,
Siri Nox,         Siri Lumos,
Shimmering, Sunbathing, Singing,
Sensuous,     Spirited,
MIDSUMMER
Celebrating emergence from hibernation and the transition from dark winter to bright summer

Elaine, I do like poems that can be read top to bottom or bottom to top. Enjoyed reading both ways… Beryl

Such a lovely poem. Very uplifting. Excellent title & format. Catchy start word & End word. Beautiful “Sh” sounds - very onomatopoeiac. Enjoyed this read today. Shine on, Elaine. X.

Many thanks for your appreciation, Douglas. I always envisage diamante poems being read from top to bottom and then upside-down!

You chose two antonyms that worked well in this diamante poem. Great work.

Many thanks indeed, Angela, I am glad you like it. The idea came to life when I learned a few weeks ago that we can instruct Siri to switch the iPhone flashlight on and off in Latin with “Siri Lumos” and “Siri Nox”. Way cooler than saying it in English, I thought! Reading this diamante aloud will give iPhone users a visual effect at the point of emergence. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. Have a great weekend.

Elaine, Wow, you are skilled in picking the right "s" es for this poem and it's transition theme. Well done. Moon Harp

Thank you for your kind words, Moon Harp. The “S” sound is my favourite as it gives me ASMR tingles, being the most prominent sound when someone is whispering. Many thanks for taking the time to read and comment. Enjoy your weekend.
