Embracing who I am

I am growing older
I passed the threshold of 55
And I am not reluctant at all
As I run with enthusiasm
Into old age

Not everyone gets the privilege
Of growing old

I have discovered my gifts
Of music and poetry
And I regularly engage in them
I am growing old with my soul mate
Who I have been married to for thirty years
I practice kindness and encourage others
On this long journey called life

I worship my Savior
And regularly commune with him
And marvel at Gods gifts daily

I am just a grateful woman who
Finds joy in every day
Despite the pain that life brings
