Embracing heartache

Saying goodbye ripping through my core, stirring up sadness that is too hard to ignore
Sorrow seeping into the dirt of my soul while questioning if I will remain whole

Not pushing around the feelings coming my way
Instead leaning in to see what they have to say
Realizing the heartache is telling me how hard it is to miss
Leaving a hole in my chest the size of an abyss

But the correlation is becoming clear now
The depth of the abyss is tied to the amount of love you poured out
So give me the grief from loving hard as it's better than keeping my heart trapped behind bars
