Embrace the Moment

Without a warning from it nor a whine from me, I was first captured. In that same moment I was arrested. I then embraced the moment, or was it I who was embraced? I shall never disregard nor underestimate the emotions and the power of 'A Moment'. A moment takes no regard for anything with which one may be presently engaged. The moment makes no suggestions, but only demands that we stop and stand in attention to whatever it commands. Before the moment ever arrives, it has already devised the beauty of its embrace. I tell you, it turned my head quicker than the love of my life at first site. I confess, no human has ever floored me like that young lady I met in Evanston 50 years ago, but I have to say that the tree across the street, flashing like a neon sign on a glorious fall day, defies all comparisons. As I walked down the second floor hallway of our home, I looked up and through the window. It was 'The Moment' that captured and arrested me. 'That Moment' promises me a golden memory of a lifetime. It happened more than 10 years ago at a very busy season in my life, but she stopped and dared me to daze into her golden brown leaves and her outstretched limbs. No, it wasn't the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden, but in a flash, an instance, 'That Moment' refreshed my life and reinvigorated my entire being. 072720PSCtest, Just A Moment, John Lawless
