Embers Ii
The embers of day glow on the horizon edge.
I see the carriage coming afar.
Another day has past away we morn its demise,
Twilight has spread its deep indigo hued wings across the face of this fleeting earth,
shadows grow in deep places
welling up darkness like Tidal pools.
The heavens reveal a vast wealth
of diamond dust left after a god forges the universe,
Like flares in black silk
star’s trace images that man recorded stories by.
A sliver orb of cold light,
the empress of night,
the eye of a Waxing god paints all in sliver white highlights, rides the heavens to midnight.
The dust of a billion galaxies splash across
the vault of sky, a milky way leading souls
to the afterlife.
I see the thing it grins sinisterly.
The night is sold solid silent,
deep the sparks of home
of humanity, are the only breaks
in the sea of night, vast.
The strongholds of family.
As embers of day die on the horizon ledge,
Another day is done, we long for the sun.
Twilight has spread its deep hues across
the face of this rare earth, shadows live
in deep places, darknest seas.
The heavens reveal a vast wealth
of stars twinkling like dust left after
divinity forges the universe,
billions of worlds splash across
the vault of night, a milky way
leading souls to immortality,
as death has stopped benevolently for me.
