Embers

RAVAGING MY HEART
TIME WORE ON
LIKE SANDPAPER ON MY SKIN
MOMENTS LIKE SNOWFLAKES
NEVER ANOTHER THE SAME
I DIDN'T, I WOULDN'T, I COULDN'T
IT'S ALL TOO LATE FOR REPAIR
YEARS DRUG MY HEART
THROUGH MUDDY WATER
AND INTO THE FIRE
NEVER A REST
HOLD ON TO THE DAYS
WHEN NOTHING WAS SOMETHING
AND A LITTLE FLICKER
COULD RAGE
NOW NOTHING MEANS NOTHING
AND EVERYTHING IS NOTHING.
