Ember of Shadow

Ember of Shadow

I call you from soft shadows and sighs, with a voice dimmed like an ember's glow,
I search for your body among the dreams that drink away my every sorrow,
Longing burns hour after hour inside me like a blind and restless flame,
And I caress you with fingers made of vapor, with love and wild grass the same.

You place a taste of ember on my lips and the moon watches us undressed,
Your hair smells of a dark flower, sweet and fatal and obsessed,
Your skin trembles with a thousand desires that swallow every silence whole,
And we wander through flames of pleasure, losing balance, losing control.

Morning comes in slowly, with the fire still alive beneath the skin,
Our love feeds itself from the blaze of rebel dreams that burn within,
Like two bare fools beneath a sky that burns and hums and resonates,
We melt into each other, like wax beside the moon that waits.

The world walks past us deaf and blind and all the darkness scatters away,
Our love grows in secret, the way the night reveals itself through gray,
We gather so much love that the sky begins to clear and breathe and shine,
And we celebrate beneath the sun the life that wraps around us like a vine.

But the dream unravels slowly and the shadows call us back once more,
We remain ember and sighs, a love both sweet and bitter to the core,
Caught between passion and turmoil, between the flames and the silence deep,
Two eternal lovers... burned by the same... endless... pleasure... we keep.
