Emancipated
Do not ask me to be more like you,
For I'd rather be an anomaly than
A eulogy to those who cannot
Believe in the unique color
Of my voice. It sings in
Neon joy for the rare
Gift of this life.
Can you
Hear?
Music
Cannot be
Disallowed in the
Name of conformity.
So I have emancipated
Myself and will not allow my
Existence to be reduced to a haiku.
Visit distorted vision and bear the
Knowledge that freedom of
Expression is the truest
Reward. Know I will
Not give birth to
The fruit of
Regret.
For this
Life is larger
Than even my
Own conception and
I will not commit blasphemy
For the sake of your acceptance.
I won't be distilled into a more socially
Fashionable version to obey bi-polar laws.
